Authentic Movement: 8 week series
10/2-11/27 (no class 10/9 Columbus Day)
12pm-2pm each session.
Authentic Movement is a moving meditation done with eyes closed in the presence of a non-judgmental, compassionate witness. It is a playful, sensation-oriented, deep listening practice originated by dancer, Mary Whitehouse in the mid- 20th century. No dance experience is necessary. Come as you are! Dress comfortably and we will create the spaciousness to allow our bodies to move, safely, respectfully, and fully. It is a movement mediation as we listen to the body and allow the breath to be very present and noticed as a way of allowing the body's wisdom to emerge.
