  • In this course students will build upon their previous knowledge of Massage & Bodywork and learn to apply that and new techniques to clients in side lying position. This will include refining stroke application & variations, body mechanics and flow of technique progression through the body. This
    course also includes basic information needed to work safely and effectively on a healthy pregnant client. The topics discussed and taught will include: Client Positioning, Bolstering and Draping, body mechanics for both standing & seated practitioner positions and the use of varying Modalities and
    Technique in a Side Lying session, as well as indications and contraindications for use.

  • About the instructor: Todd A. Rivers, LMT
    Todd is a graduate of the Muscular Therapy Institute, Cambridge, MA. He has over 17 years’ experience in both the field of bodywork and massage education. During those years many were spent working for an award-winning spa in downtown Boston, Massachusetts before moving in to the teaching realm and clinical aspect of massage. Todd has multiple certifications in modalities such as The Benjamin System of Muscular Therapy, deep tissue massage, Reiki, Myofascial Release Technique and Native American Bodywork as well as other western modalities. In his classes he combines his knowledge and experience to create a safe, well-balanced and informative learning environment. He hopes to maintain, if not raise, the bar of massage therapy education and training.
