Amy Morgan is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and a certified Open Dialogue practitioner providing support, therapy and in-home services for individuals, families, and social networks. She received her master’s degree in social work from Boston University in 2005.

Through developing meaningful connections, Amy is focused on helping people in the ways they want to be helped and feel helped. She believes that each person is the expert on themselves. She offers the space, time, support, and guidance for greater understanding of their distress and emotional suffering.  She values the collective wisdom within a person, a family and/or a social network of supports and welcomes the inclusion of important people in the therapeutic process if the person seeking help so chooses. 

Prior to starting her private practice, Amy’s professional experiences and training include clinical, administrative, and senior leadership roles within a large, non-profit organization for 28 years. She works with adults with an array of mental health struggles; people who have had major disruptions and traumas, and who have endured significant turbulence in their lives; adults who utilize self-injury; adults with suicidal ideas and intent; adults with distressing experiences often labeled as “psychosis”; adults with substance use challenges; and adults with difficulties in managing their relationships and maintaining their home environments. Utilizing appropriate communication access and American Sign Language interpreters, Amy works with adults who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing and is understanding of Deaf culture. Additionally, she is a trained therapist and skills group facilitator for Dialectical Behavior Therapy.

While both Zoom and in-person office meetings are available, Amy also provides the unique service of in-home sessions. In addition to counseling, Amy provides consultation and training to agencies.

Amy lives in the Boston area. She is a mother of two young adults, a lover of animals and finds peace and solitude from the ocean. Amy is described as kind and compassionate with an unwavering commitment to advocacy and the protection of human rights.
